embossing powder and mica flakes, glass beads, acrylic paints; mounted onto a fabric wrapped wooden frame

Artist Statement:
Before there was anything – light, sun or moon, earth, plants, living creatures – there was water. Our understanding of God is completely submerged in water… birth, purification, deliverance, blessings.
Having created the earth out of water, and the sky in the midst of waters, and calling forth living creatures out of water, we continue to be bathed by our Creator’s loving care.
